Privacy Policy
This policy explains what RealTimeSolar collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to realtimesolar.live.

1. The short version
There are no accounts on this site and nothing you type into a calculator is sent to us or stored. The calculators run in your browser. We do collect anonymous analytics about which pages are visited, and we use affiliate links that set cookies when you click them.
2. What the calculators do with your figures
Nothing leaves your device. When you change a value — your electricity usage, your bill, a cable run length — the result is recalculated in your browser by JavaScript. Those values are not transmitted to this site, not logged, and not stored. Closing the tab discards them.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which are not. It records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. We cannot identify you from it and we do not try.
You can opt out entirely with Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking the script in your browser. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
4. Cookies
Two kinds are used here. Analytics cookies, described above. And affiliate cookies, set by the merchant when you click a product link, so that a purchase is attributed to this site.
Most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely. The calculators work normally if you do.
5. Affiliate links
Some outbound product links are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates. If you click one and buy something, the merchant pays us a commission at no additional cost to you. The merchant — not this site — sees that purchase; we receive only aggregate commission reports, which do not identify individual buyers.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Affiliate relationships do not influence the calculations. The maths is computed before any product is chosen, from published NEC tables and irradiance data, and the calculator has no knowledge of which products are being shown alongside it.
6. Advertising
If third-party advertising is served on this site, those providers may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising from participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices and through Google Ad Settings.
7. What we never do
We do not sell personal data. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not ask for your name, address, or phone number anywhere on this site, and there is no form that collects them.
8. Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with comparable law, you have the right to ask what data relates to you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to processing. Because this site holds no accounts and no personal records, in practice this means analytics data held by Google, which their own tools let you control. Write to info@realtimesolar.live and we will help where we can.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
